Montana River Poster Yellowstone Bison

A classic view of a bull Bison in the Lamar Valley of eastern Yellowstone Park. This design is based upon a photo I took one spring when traveling from Cooke City through the Lamar Valley. This big old bull bison seems to live in solitude near Soda Butte Creek, I’ve seen him there several times. He stands and quietly grazes, hardly noticing passing traffic or tourists taking photos. On this day, I was literally throwing small sticks at him in an attempt to get him to look my way. When he finally did shoot me a look of slight frustration, I snapped this shot and quickly got the heck out of there
